New Delhi: Beauty and skincare brand VLCC has appointed Vikas Gupta as its CEO with immediate effect, the company announced in a press release on Tuesday. Prior to joining VLCC, Gupta was heading Nykaa‘s eB2B business, Superstore as its CEO.
Gupta’s appointment comes after Carlyle, a global investment firm acquired a majority stake in VLCC in December last year.
“Vikas will focus on business growth, leveraging technology and customer centricity to bring the best of beauty and skincare propositions to the Indian market. I am confident that the organization will benefit from his leadership,” said Amit Jain, MD, and head, Carlyle India Advisors.
Before Nykaa, Gupta worked as the chief customer and marketing officer at Flipkart between 2019-21. He was also associated with HUL for 21 years, leading brand marketing for Lux, Dove, and as the executive director of the care home for Unilever Indonesia.
“We will continue to build on our strengths, while also exploring new opportunities for growth and expansion. Our focus will be on creating value for our stakeholders and making a positive impact in the beauty and skincare industry,” said Gupta, on his appointment as Group CEO of VLCC.
