New Delhi: Curly hair care and accessories startup Manetain, has bagged an investment of Rs 75 lakh for a 10 per cent equity from Aman Gupta, the founder of boAt, on episode 24 of the second season of Shark Tank India, as per a press release.

Started in 2018 by Yuba and Hinshara, the startup offers a range of hair accessories, shampoos and conditioners. It now has over 1,500 stock-keeping units (SKUs), with plans to expand the range further.

According to the release, the co-founders of Manetain applied to Shark Tank with the goal of securing funding to increase production and marketing efforts through various channels, including social media, marketplaces, and direct website traffic.

“Nearly 60 per cent of Indians have curly to wavy hair, but lack information and product knowledge. Our goal is to reach out to the global curly hair community and offer a complete range of products to support their curly hair care regime,” said Hinshara Habeeb, co-founder of the brand.

As per the media release, the global market for curly hair care products is valued at USD 2.87 billion in 2022 and is expected to reach USD 3.37 billion by 2026, growing at a CAGR of 4.04 per cent from 2022 to 2026. The market for curly hair accessories was valued at USD 2.24 billion in 2022 and is projected to reach USD 31.6 billion by 2028, growing at a CAGR of 7.7 per cent from 2022 to 2028.
